Birds, Botany, and the Creek Fundraiser

Birds, Botany & the Creek on October 3, 2026

Join Avian Behavior Conservancy and the Escondido Creek Conservancy for Birds, Botany & the Creek, a special morning celebrating the birds, wildlife, and open spaces of North County. Held at Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve, the event will include guided birding walks with experienced birders and biologists, live bird programs with Avian Behavior Conservancy, family-friendly educational activities, prize drawings, and time to explore one of the region’s most beautiful protected natural areas.

This community fundraiser supports the conservation, education, research, and outreach work of both organizations. Proceeds from the event will be shared between the Escondido Creek Conservancy and Avian Behavior Conservancy, helping protect local habitats, support research endeavors, and create meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to learn about the natural world. Space is intentionally limited to keep the morning engaging, personal, and enjoyable for everyone attending.

Meet the birds in our flighted program at 10:30 AM

Activities such as birding and botany walks and family friendly nature crafts will fill the morning

What our funders make possible

Escondido Creek Conservancy and Avian Behavior Conservancy have well aligned missions that strengthen your donation’s impact. From preserving crucial wildlife corridors to installing nestboxes for declining populations of the American kestrel, our organizations work on complementary goals throughout North County. In turn, we are committed to spreading this passion with our community to foster lifelong connections with nature. A child seeing a raptor up close, a family discovering birds along a local trail, or a community member learning something new about the watershed can be the beginning of greater curiosity, care, and stewardship for the natural world.

Donations to Birds, Botany & the Creek support the conservation, education, research, and outreach work of the Escondido Creek Conservancy and Avian Behavior Conservancy. Your support helps protect local habitats, provide engaging wildlife and nature programs, care for and train ambassador birds, support field research, and create opportunities for people of all ages to experience the wildlife and wild spaces of North County in meaningful ways.

Whether you give $10, $25, $50, or more, your gift helps build a community that knows, values, and cares for the natural world around us. For information about business or organizational sponsorship opportunities, please contact us directly at support@avian-behavior.org
