Owl Handling Experience
Meet our owls! This class allows guests with families the one of a kind experience to meet an owl up close and feel what it’s like to handle these incredible birds of prey. Enjoy a secluded spot in the San Diego countryside and discover the incredible adaptations of an owl. Huge eyes, excellent hearing, ultra light feathers….! This session is a special handling encounter and glove experience, it does not involve flights with the owls. You will learn how to wear a falconry glove and interact with owls in a way that encourages comfort. Our owl ambassadors Guinness the Eurasian Eagle Owl, Beatrix the Barn Owl, and Ripley the Spectacled Owl will join us for this engaging way of learning about conservation. They will sit on your glove and allow you to experience an owl in a way you never imagined! Tina and Titus, our burrowing owls, may also be part of this experience. Relax in the company of these incredible birds of prey, learn about the species of owls in San Diego County and the small changes we can make to help them.

Owl Prowl Experience
An Owl Prowl Experience allows guests to get an up close and personal encounter with these incredible animals. Even in sunny San Diego, our highly trained free flying owls provide an amazing insight into the world of this iconic predator. We have three owls in our team! A spectacled owl, Ripley, a Eurasian Ealge Owl, Guinness, and a Barn Owl, Beatrix, all demonstrate the unmatched adaptations of owls. ABI trainers show visitors how to catch an owl on the glove, and you get the chance to be face to face with an owl in this Experience. While owls are not the most common birds of prey used for falconry, falconers have used them with varying degrees of success, as they are such effective predators. Our burrowing owls will often avail themselves for a meet and greet as well for us. This Experience is often combined with others, such as our Free Flight Macaw Experience.

Owl Prowl and Falcon Flight
An Owl Prowl with Falcon Flight Experience allows guests to get an up close and personal encounter with not only owls but also with our falcon. Even in sunny San Diego, our highly trained free flying owls provide an amazing insight into the world of this iconic predator. We have three owls in our team! A spectacled owl, Ripley, a Eurasian Ealge Owl, Guinness, and a Barn Owl, Beatrix, all demonstrate the unmatched adaptations of owls. ABI trainers show visitors how to catch an owl on the glove, and you get the chance to be face to face with an owl in this Experience. End the experience with a fast paced falcon flight! Our Saker Falcon, Halley, will show off her amazing skills and tricks to catch the lure. Once finished get an up close look by holding her on the glove.
