Owl Handling Session

June 2 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

$66.00 – $110.00
owl handling experience San Diego

Meet our owls! This class allows guests with families the one-of-a-kind experience to meet an owl up close and feel what it’s like to handle these incredible birds of prey. Enjoy a secluded spot in the San Diego countryside and discover the incredible adaptations of an owl. Huge eyes, excellent hearing, ultra-light feathers….!

This session is a special handling encounter and glove experience, it does not involve flights with the owls. You will learn how to wear a falconry glove and interact with owls in a way that encourages comfort.

Our owl ambassadors include Guinness the Eurasian Eagle Owl, Beatrix the Barn Owl, Ripley the Spectacled Owl, Tina the Burrowing Owl, and Nigel the Screech Owl. Some of these owls will join us for this engaging way of learning about conservation.

They will sit on your glove and allow you to experience an owl in a way you never imagined! Relax in the company of these incredible birds of prey, learn about the species of owls in San Diego County and the small changes we can make to help them.

Each of our tours includes a full farm visit. Explore with us how conservation and agriculture come together in unique ways all across the planet for a more sustainable future. We employ permaculture techniques here at our farm for all of the animals and native wildlife of the Southern California chaparral to work together. Check out the wonderful fruits of the ABI Farm, our pollinators, friendly goats, pigs, and mini donkeys, as well as the rest of the free-flying bird crew of Avian Behavior International.

Check out our FAQ section and let us know if we can answer more questions.

Our Terms and Conditions will help maximize your time with the animals and include suggestions on what to wear.

You will receive an email with details and directions within 24 hours of event registration. Check your spam folder and make sure to follow the driving directions, as we are out in the country.
