Bird of Prey Experience

August 28 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$137.00
training an augur buzzard

Our most popular experience! Guests handling experience with birds of prey, learn all about what makes them extraordinary predators, and how they fit into the ecosystem of San Diego, California. Our line up includes the red tailed augur hawk, one of our owls, either a Eurasian Eagle Owl or Spectacled Owl, and a Falcon. Learn all about falconry in San Diego!

Beloved by farmers for their ability to control mouse, rat, and gopher populations, we get to demonstrate right in front of you what makes these birds such valuable agricultural allies. Discover the ancient art of falconry and its role in conservation.

Each of our tours includes a full farm visit. Explore with us how conservation and agriculture come together in unique ways all across the planet for a more sustainable future. We employ permaculture techniques here at our farm for all of the animals and native wildlife of the Southern California chaparral to work together. Check out the wonderful fruits of the ABI Farm, friendly goats, pigs, and mini donkeys, as well as the rest of the free flying bird crew of Avian Behavior International.

Check out our FAQ section and let us know if we can answer more questions. For our current Covid precautions, we list them in the FAQ as well.

Our Terms and Conditions will help maximize your time with the animals, and include suggestions on what to wear.

You will receive an email with details and directions within 24 hours of event registration. Check your spam folder and make sure to follow the driving directions, as we are out in the country.
