The first conference held by Avian Behavior International, AvOCET 2023 will be a virtual gathering space for bird behavior, training, education, and conservation enthusiasts. With internationally featured renowned speakers, paper submissions, panel discussions, and breakout rooms, the conference is designed to foster challenging ideas and thoughtful discussion, give attendees access to incredible minds in academia and animal care, and keep our community engaged with and feeling inspired by the latest work in the field and laboratory

Want to submit a paper for consideration about your work?
Excited to share your work? The avian research, behavior, and care field is in a critical time facing a variety of challenges. From encroaching issues in the field that require us to think differently about our research and collaborative work to behavior science that necessitates evolution, scientific rigor, and creativity, we want you to find a safe and supportive venue to highlight your work. This includes not only the opportunity for presenting your topic, but the opportunity to collaborate with peers and other professionals around the world that are inspired by and have inspired your ideas.
Topic ideas might include training highlights and lowlights in the avian education field, innovative conservation work, and new frontiers discovered with evidence-based practices in avian welfare science to improve the lives of the birds in our care, both indirectly and directly.
Abstracts must be submitted by January 1, 2023 to be considered.
