Directions to the ranch are below! Please review the following information in its entirety:

We are excited to have you here at Avian Behavior International Ranch. We very much look forward to seeing you!

To maximize your experience with the animals and for tips on appropriate footwear, take a moment to review our Terms and Conditions here.

Below are directions and some of the ways we are addressing Covid-19 during our experience. The address and some helpful hints for directions are below. We are on Google Maps which is a helpful navigation device. However, please read the directions, as your car’s built-in GPS might lead you the wrong way.

You can also download and print a PDF version of the directions by clicking the button below:

Step 1:

Once you are on Lake Wohlford Road, you will turn on to Guejito Road. There are signs to Hidden Valley Retreat on this turn.

Step 2:

After 1 mile, bear right on Old Guejito Grade Road.

Step 3:

After 0.7 miles you’ll see a round mirror, a big sign for the Hidden Valley Ashram, and a street sign for Melrose Ranch Road, and a very straight *dirt road* at which you will turn left (it’s called Melrose Ranch Road, not to be confused with the Melrose Ranch sign you already passed).

Step 4:

This 0.9 mile long road can get bumpy in some places, but stay straight and you will find the ranch, marked of course, with black metal bird address sign as the road comes to a T at the end.

Step 5:

Enter through the grey gravel driveway and you will find plenty of parking. Cellphone service can be spotty once you turn down Guejito road, but if you get lost please text or call us at 760-755-3414.

COVID-19 precautions:

We understand the uncertainty with Covid-19 and we appreciate you supporting us! Here are some of the ways we address this virus to keep everyone safe.

We always keep groups very small. We verbally agree to the standard waivers, so we don’t have you physically sign anything.

We have leather gloves for our Bird of Prey and Owl Prowl Experiences and provide sanitizer between use. If you feel feverish or have flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with someone suspected of or testing positive to COVID 19 in the last two weeks, we request that you stay home and reschedule your experience for another time.

We stay distanced and safe and enjoy the space, fresh air, and birds!

See you soon and thank you for supporting us!
